High school girl Nanako became her town's local idol after being requested to do so by her uncle. Together with her upperclassman Yukari, a girl who seems perfect but is actually quite airheaded, as local idols, they get interviewed (by the town's shopping centre), go on television (low-budget cable), and do concerts (on the roof of the department store). The girls' salaries come from the town's taxes.

Soon, many dads in the whole nation go out of control, and the Nohara family (Shinnosuke's family) and Kasukabe start falling apart. Before the near-collapse of Kasukabe, Shinnosuke and Hiroshi i.e. Robot dad stand up to save the day.
