The DBZ TV series is receiving an extensive "refresh" for Japanese television airing on the 20th anniversary of DBZ. While based on the original animation production, it is being updated with new technology, including cropping the frames for formatting on an HD 16:9 display. The original Japanese cast is re-grouping to re-voice the show (where available, and unfortunately not including those that have passed on, such as Suzuoki Hirotaka [Tenshinhan]). Sound effects are being updated, and the OPs and EDs are being completely redone. New content includes a brief look at the last moments of Bardock and Planet Vegeta, an overview of young Goku's growing up years (Dragonball, the pre-Z period) up until his triumph over Piccolo at the Tenkaichi-Budokai, and the all-too-brief and yet still somewhat triumphant return of Farmer with a Shotgun!

While Nobita is sleeping, he suddenly feels the floor is trembling, like there would be an earthquake in his room. A little rabbit from an alternate universe named Chamii opens the door between the dimensions using a hammer and gets inside Nobita's room through the floor. Since Koh has spent so much time practicing in their batting cages, he has become a genius hitter, but has no knowledge of any other aspect of baseball. This is in contrast to Aoba, who, despite being a year younger, is an adept pitcher and hitter. Wakaba is a classmate of Koh’s, and she seems fully intent on marrying him when she grows up. All seems idyllic in their world, until tragedy strikes. The story then skips ahead to four years later, as Koh has continued the training he began four years ago, but has not played in a baseball game since. As he finally begins playing again, it remains to be seen whether or not he will live up to the expectations of those who know the true talent he has been hiding all this time.
